Tobias Tovera’s paintings occupy a world between science, art and nature. At times the artist’s paintings evoke Mother Earth, while at others, the cosmos or inner dream worlds.

The chemical reactions that result, often activated by the artist’s introduction of fire, are an array of colours and graduations of textures. Typically taking several months to evolve, the surface of the painting becomes its own landscape and record of the passage of time.
